Home workouts
If you want to exercise, but don't have a chance to go to the gym, working out at home is a great option. Especially when traveling I find working out at home very convenient and nice way to exercise. It saves time and money and you can still have an efficient workout with just few simple exercises. As a matter of fact, after my home workouts recently, I have been more sore than after working out at the gym haha!
My home workouts usually include basic exercises like squats... and more squats(I love squats! XD ), lunges, push ups, planks,ab crunches etc. and different variations of them. I like to do my workouts in circuit or HIIT style to keep my heart rate up and make the exercises shorter in time. In circuits I have 5-7 exercises, 3-4 sets and 8-15 reps each and I do the exercises in a row having only quick rests in between. I usually do 2 circuits per workout and thus my workouts are only 30-45 minutes long. In HIIT exercises (also called high intensity interval training) I usually have about 10 exercises like jumping jacks, lunges, jump squats, push ups, mountain climber etc. to raise my heart rate as up as possible during the work periods and have quick rests between exercises. My HIIT sessions usually last 30 minutes as I go through that 10 exercise workout 3-4 times having 30-45 second work and 15-30 second rest periods.
Some of the workouts I plan myself but I also use a lot of workouts designed by other athletes. I have purchased several online guides like Finnish Fitfarm's online coachings, Kiah McSwain's Working Women Fitness Challenge or Jelly Devote's Diet and Workout Plan. All of these have been very good and given me new motivation to work out. Especially Kiah's guide and Jelly's workout plan include fun workouts that are very easy to do at home. I also find a lot of great HIIT exercises on Pinterest or by following fitness athletes on Instagram.
You can have efficient home workouts even without any equipment, but if you want to invest in your home gym a little, I highly recommend you purchasing a pair of adjustable dumbbells to add a little extra weight to your workouts, yoga mat to make lying on the floor more comfortable, rubber band or several different strength rubber bands which are perfect for leg workouts and a yoga or bosu ball that I find practical for ab workouts for example.
So if you are not a gym person or just don't have a chance to go to the gym, give home workouts a go and see if that works for you. I like going to the gym and group exercise classes myself but I also like working out at home. Especially here, under the nice Australian sun, I definitely don't mind working out at home and getting some fresh air instead of going to sweaty indoor gyms. Working out outside on my back yard refreshes both my mind and my body, and I really enjoy that! :)

I agree with you that working out at home is more convenient and and nice way to exercise, in my opinion, going to the gym is very hard nowadays because the working schedule. Most of the time I workout at home with my pro bar and I'm looking for other stretching that I can add on my daily exercise. By the way, thank you for posting.
